poor Dawson just can't get a break

Hes coming down with a cold. Could be allergies, not sure. Anyway, hes just not been in tip top shape the past day or so and then last night he woke up and crawled right off the bed. Josh was on the couch so he wasn't where he would normally be to prevent that from happening. (he fell into a bunched up comforter but I don't feel much better about it still) His sympathetic nerve went into overdrive (causing his temp to go up in his face and head but no where else) and by morning he was swatting at his cheek and ear on the left so I made an appt at the chiro's. He is doing a bit better but we spent the afternoon at my mom's house and he didn't nap well so hes making up for it now...guess we will be up late tonight with him again.

Valley Chevrolet sucks! Acutally its worse now than it ever got anywhere else he worked. I dont' know whats gonna happen but he has got to get out of there and preferably the whole car business. In the past couple of weeks, they have lost all rights to any money made in the finance of vehicles unless they have sold 10 cars that month. They have lost all rights to a full day off every week until they have sold 9 cars that month and they have lost their rotating weekend off. The finance money was never a bundle, but even if it was $100, it was $100 we needed. There were months though that he made $5-600 in finance money so this really stinks! So you are wondering why he isn't selling 10 cars a month? Well, when a dealership that sells 60-70 cars a month has 8-10 salesmen, there isn't really gonna be room for each one to sell 10. Even if he is paid off 10 cars a month, in acutality, he really only may have 6 cars sold in whole numbers because of shared deals. (say his mom walks in to buy a car from him but he is busy with another customer, one of them would be turned over to another salesman and the deal would be shared.) The day off thing isn't gonna fly with either of us! He did work 1/2 a day this week but only because he had a customer coming in. He was going to talk to Jody about all of this today but he had the day off so it will have to wait til the morning I guess. He went back to VC with really high hopes. His budy Jody was his boss, the other manager was really great, they were getting off early on some nights, off a rotating weekend and days off were respected. ALL of that has chaged with the exception of Jody. I don't know what hes gonna do, but he may as well start looking because I don't know how they are going to take it when he tells them that he is going to take his days off during the week. Mina, I know we talked about his stress level the other night and now I know where it was coming from. He was keeping most of this from me. :(

On top of all the other shit, he got fitted for his tux today and found out the damage...$110 for a fucking tux that he will wear for a total of 4 hours at the most! I was shocked! I expected $70 or so. We can NOT afford this right now! He doesn't even want to be in the wedding and I bet if it weren't his best friend he would have bailed out.

What next?

Megan found something fun to do today. She has been doing forward somersaults for ages but today she figured out how to do a flip without her hands (on the matress). Over and over I heard "watch this mama" and then {flip}. What fun! Today drug by. It felt like an eternity honestly. We got groceries this morning but I forgot my list so I didn't buy quite a few things and will have to get them tomorrow. Dawson napped but it was early and by evening he was spent and fell asleep with no trouble by 6:30. He saw that as a nap though, woke up at 7 and was up til 9:30 and had the hardest time settling. I am soooo exhausted!

Josh is off tomorrow and I hope he will get the compost pile built. We went out and scavanged some shipping slabs on Sunday so we need to pick up the chicken wire and put it together. I want to have at least 2 so they can be in different stages.

I watched a program on PBS tonight about alternative health care. They made chiropracters out to be quacks but did have some positive things to say about acupunture. I don't have the mental energy to get all of my thoughts about this out, but I will say that I believe there are bad chiropacters out there. I think that rough manipulation of the neck is bad news and they showed some really horrifying adjustments to one man's neck. (it could have been made to look worse than it was though). They also said it wasn't based on any science and that people who claim it works for them don't have any real diagnosis so in effect, it was all in their mind. Here is my chiro-testimony if you will...

When I was 8 or 9 I woke up one day and my mouth when I smiled at my mom, she freaked. I could only move one side of my face. She took me to the dr and I was *diagnosed* with Bell's Palsey. It was going to take weeks of medicine to cure it according to my ped. I don't rememeber much about this at all but my mom told me that she and daddy discussed it and decided to take me to the chiropracter. I was well within days...2 visits to be exact and there was improvment after the first visit. Since I was really too young to understand what was happening to me and had never been to the chiro before, how could it have been any placebo effect. I had a real diagnosis and 2 visits with a chiro and my problem cleared up.
I get so sick of hearing medical dr's say that chiro is quackery. Their brand of medicine is a quack too IMO. Doling out abx to everyone who comes in with the flu, sore throat or cold and then accepting the heartfelt thanks for curing the patient is sick. If there weren't so many wrong things with that, it would be funny. Don't get me wrong, western med has its place obviously, but they are misusing prescriptions way more than I see misuse of chiropracic care or herbs.

Matt Damon just said something about eating hummus on Entertainment Tonight and now I'm craving it. Dammit!

My poor baby boy got stung by a hornet today! :(

I was outside with Megan pulling weeds and Dawson was napping in his Nana's house. I hadn't been out long when I heard him cry and she was bringing him to me. We all sat down under the big oak tree and Megan wanted to swing in her tree swing. I took Dawson over to the little tykes cube and set him on the slide. Pretty soon these black flys started flying around us and I swatted 2 before one landed on Dawson and I slapped it away. Hes really sensitive to things like that and he started to cry and he cried and cried HARD. MIL said, "those aren't flys Annie, those look like hornets!" I had never seen hornets up close, so I didn't know what they were. :( It dawned on me that maybe D had cried so hard because he was stung and sure enough, there was a red dot that was white and puffy around it. We didnt' have tobacco to put on it so we used meat tenderizer at the advice of a family member and he seemed fine shortly. Poor baby! FIL tipped over the cube and found the nest. A BIG one!

D didn't have a good day at all anyway. His naps were short and he was clingy. I thought last night he was coming down with a cold, but didn't seem to have symptoms today. I hope to goodness it doesn't turn into an ear problem again.

Pray and cross your fingers for us. GM has some good incentives this month and so does the store. If they sell a certain number of cars, theres a big reward. Thats all I want to say at this time though. ;) The month has started off well though...if we can just keep consistant. Spring has always been slower than summer so things should start picking up for us.

The only other newsworthy blurb is that my mom walked in on Josh walking through the house naked last night. :O He was getting ready to get in the shower and she was afraid of waking up the kids so she came in quietly. She was SO embarrased, be isn't bothered by stuff like that. It was funny IMO. :P
